Data we collect

  • Account: email address and account ID when you sign in with Apple, Google or email.
  • Age and consents: your birth year (18+ check), your consent to send data to our AI provider, and a record of each "This person in the photo is me" confirmation (user, time, text version).
  • Content you submit: chosen category and options, text you type, and photos you upload in photo categories.
  • Credits and purchases: credit balance, subscription status, store transaction ID. We never receive your card details; Apple or Google processes payment.
  • Sharing (if community is enabled): images you post publicly, captions, username, likes, reports and blocks.
  • Technical: error logs, generation time, model used and its cost. We do not collect advertising IDs or track you for ads.

Photos and face data

  • Uploaded photos are processed only to create the image you asked for; they are not stored or logged on our servers. Images you generate are not stored on our server and stay on your phone; only images you share to the community or report are kept on our server (Türkiye).
  • We do not run a face recognition system, create face templates or train on your face, and we do not identify or match people by face. The public-figure check on prompts compares your text against a name list; photos are not part of it. Before an image you share is published, Google Gemini classifies it for unsafe content, minors and identifiable real people or celebrities; this runs on the provider side, we use the result only to publish or reject, and we do not store it as face data.
  • You may not upload photos of other people; photos that appear to show a child are refused.

AI provider (Google Gemini)

With your explicit consent, your text and photo are sent to Google LLC's Gemini API to generate images and run safety checks. Google processes this data on our behalf under the paid Gemini API terms and data processing addendum; it does not use your prompts or results to improve its products or train its models. Google logs this data for a limited period solely to prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Generation is not possible without consent; you can withdraw it in Settings.

Legal bases

Performance of contract, consent (AI provider and international transfer), legal obligation (store and tax records), legitimate interest (abuse prevention, security).

International transfers

Images you share to the community are stored on our server in Türkiye, hosted by our processor Sunucun Bilgi İletişim Teknolojileri. Account and app data (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore) are hosted by Google in the EU region (europe-west1, Belgium); for AI processing, your text and photo (and, for community moderation, the shared image) are sent to Google LLC's Gemini API and may be processed outside your country. Transfers rely on your consent and appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention

  • Uploaded photos, prompts and generated images: not stored on our server; images stay on your phone.
  • Images and prompts you share to the community: on our server in Türkiye until you delete them or your account; deleted immediately when you do.
  • Posts removed by moderation: held separately for 30 days (appeal period), then permanently deleted.
  • Reported content: 12 months for review and legal defence.
  • Consent and purchase records: for the life of the account and as required by law.
  • Account: until you delete it; deleted immediately.

Your rights

You may access, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to a supervisory authority. Delete your account in one step in Settings → Delete account; your account, shared images, likes and credit records are deleted immediately (except purchase records we must keep by law). Other requests: [email protected], answered within 30 days.

Age

Despina is for users 18 and over. If we learn a user is under 18, we close the account and delete its data.

Changes

We will notify you in the app of material changes.
